🚀 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 Ever feel like you’re working all day but getting nothing done? The culprit might not be your workload—it’s context switching. As developers, we often juggle multiple tasks: 🔹 Fixing a bug 🛠 🔹 Reviewing a PR 📝 🔹 Jumping on a meeting 💬 🔹 Debugging another issue 🔍 🔹 Answering Slack messages 🚨 Each switch breaks your flow and forces your brain to reset. Studies show it can take 23 minutes to regain deep focus after switching tasks. Multiply that by several context switches a day, and you’re losing hours of productive coding time. How to Reduce Context Switching? ✔ Time blocking – Dedicate focused coding sessions without interruptions. ✔ Batch similar tasks – Group code reviews, meetings, and bug fixes together. ✔ Turn off distractions – Close unnecessary tabs, mute notifications, and go heads-down when coding. 🚀 How do you manage context switching in your work? Let’s discuss! #SoftwareDevelopment #Productivity #DeepWork #DevLife

𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐔𝐈 – 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚 At Mijick, our mission is simple: make complex things easy. When we started working with camera functionality in SwiftUI, we quickly realized how complicated, rigid, and difficult to maintain existing implementations were. So, we built Camera - an open-source library designed to make camera integration in SwiftUI incredibly easy to use. 🚀 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐖𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚 SwiftUI is a powerful framework, but handling camera functionality within it has always been a challenge. We wanted to change that. Our library: ✅ Requires minimal setup – No need to struggle with low-level APIs. ✅ Offers full flexibility – Whether you need a simple preview or advanced camera controls, Camera adapts to your needs. ✅ Is easy to maintain – Despite its complexity, we’ve ensured that it remains clean and developer-friendly. 🔗 𝐓𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭: https://lnkd.in/eB-cPmec We’re always looking for feedback and contributions—so if you’re working with SwiftUI and need an intuitive camera solution, check it out and let us know what you think! #SwiftUI #iOSDevelopment #OpenSource #Mijick #Camera #AppDevelopment #Swift

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭? This one is going to be a little nostalgic. Let’s take a trip back to the moment when you first wrote something that actually worked. That first project that made you feel like a real developer. 💭 How old were you at that time?  💻 What programming language did you use? For me, the journey started in university. During my first year, we were forced to write code on paper - no IDEs, no compilers, just a pen, a notebook, and pages filled with handwritten logic. I didn’t like it back then; I wanted to finally build something real. We were also taught C, but only the basics - nothing that felt like an actual project. So you can imagine how tired and frustrated I was after a whole year of this - I went to study computer science to learn how to build something real, yet I found myself stuck writing code on paper and working on simple exercises instead of actually creating something functional. I really hated it at the time, but looking back, I have to admit - the university knew what it was doing with its syllabus. Then, after all that time spent learning algorithms, data structures, algebra, and other theoretical concepts, we were finally given our first real project - to build a 2D platformer game in Python. 🎮 It was my first and most unforgettable experience in programming. Now, I’d love to hear your story - how old were you when you built your first programming project, and what was it? Drop it in the comments! ⬇️ #programming #learning #university #work #development

  • 💡 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀? 💡 At Mijick, we’ve learned a lot about crafting tools that simplify life for developers. The tricky part is that some challenges become so routine that developers don’t even notice them anymore. These “invisible problems” might be tricky to identify, but the rewards of fixing them definitely make it worth the effort. But it’s not just about finding a problem and coming up with a solution. To create something truly useful, we follow some key principles that guide us in making tools developers can count on: • 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗞𝗲𝘆 Developers are busy people. A great tool should simplify a workflow, not make it more complicated. • 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗕𝗶𝗴 The best tools adapt as needs grow. We build the core features first while keeping scalability and future needs in mind. • 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 The golden rule: don’t create tools that no one needs. Everything we build addresses real challenges. • 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 Real-world insights from developers allows us to fine-tune and improve our solutions so they actually work. What do you think is the most crucial aspect of open-source development? We’d love to hear your insights! • 🚨 Beware of Code Crimes! 🚨 Here’s a code snippet that… has completely lost its way. 🚂 It breaks a few (well, 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 actually) programming principles. But it's a great opportunity to learn something from it! 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: Find all the broken programming principles! 🕵️♂️ This peace of code is a masterclass in what not to do: ignore 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗 and break 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀. Write your findings in the comments below. Let’s see how many bad practices we can name! 🧑💻⚡ I'll start. 🙋♂️ The name of the function doesn't fully reflect its behaviour. #solid #developing #programming #learning #teaching #education #knowledge  #swift #swiftui #ios

  • Ugh, I was aware of this, though (I wonder if I'm alone with this), but I have a terrible aversion to regex and use it as a last resort; it's just too unreadable for me. / T

I talk (a lot) about iOS and Swift (link in bio) – working @ Photoroom

Did you know that Swift has a built-in syntax for Regular Expressions? 🤨 It was actually added a couple years ago and it flew a bit under the radar because it requires iOS 16 📱 But now that supporting iOS 16+ is more and more common, it's the perfect time to learn about it 😌 https://lnkd.in/dVPvVFHm
